If you are an author, blogger, or business professional, then this option is for you! You may understand the writing world (or you may not), so you may not want to read through all of my comments on every issue I find. I have an eagle eye for mistakes and am happy to make those changes quickly and efficiently. My editing services include the following:
- I TRACK MY CHANGES as I make them so that you can see what I am doing. You then have the freedom to accept or reject each change as you read through your revised document.
- For longer documents, I offer a FREE phone consult to discuss the vision and style that you hope to achieve in your writing. If you want something to come across as casual, then I want to keep this in mind as I look over your punctuation and capitalization. However, if you want something more formal, then I will focus on refining your writing to come across the way you desire.
- If you prefer to strictly e-mail regarding your document, I am happy to communicate in this way as well.
- For authors with longer documents, after our initial consult regarding the entire document, I recommend that you submit each chapter as a separate submission (in order). By doing this, we can focus on the goal of each chapter and how it fits into the vision of the book. At any time, if you have questions or concerns about how the editing process is going, we can schedule an additional phone consult (at no charge).
- The types of errors I look to improve include (but is not limited to), the following:
- Comma usage
- Spacing
- Capitalization
- Passive voice (if desired by client)
- Awkward phrasing (diction)
- Sentence structure (syntax)
- Inconsistent style
- Author voice
- The number of pages I can edit per hour depends on the level and style of paper. Typically, I can edit between five and ten pages in one hour. However, this rate adjusts depending on level of writing and type of document.
- I do not charge for resubmissions under the editing umbrella. If you have questions about some of my changes, then please discuss them with me at no additional charge.
