ABOUT

Welcome to my web site! My name is Amanda. In 2017, I became an author, a wife, and a licensed counselor–three life goals of mine that I am so blessed to have accomplished! God has been so good to me, and He is continuing to bless me in 2018 already. For 2018, I am planning on continuing to market my new book in addition to starting my own editing business. You can find information on both of these endeavors by clicking on the menu tabs.

As far as my writing world goes, I wrote a book during the summer of 2016. The creative Christian non-fiction work features narrative around my car accident that happened in the summer of 2015 and uses theories of social constructionism and constructivism to underly the biblical foundation of what it means to have an identity in Christ. Lucid Books picked up my book in the fall of 2016, so the timing of this process really shows God’s hand in this work. I cannot believe that my book is now on sale. You can find more information about Reconstructed: Finding Christian Identity in a Postmodern World by clicking here.

Even though this book is my first, I have also published creative works in newspapers (during high school) and literary journals (during my undergraduate and graduate careers). As a counseling graduate student at Texas Christian University (TCU), I have taken advantage of publishing opportunities with research as well. The American Educational Research Association (AERA) has recently accepted an article I co-authored for publication, and I am also on an adolescent counseling research team, which hopes to publish a study in the next year. I guess you can that I have an obsession with all kinds of writing!

One of my greatest joys, though, is learning throughout my own writing sessions. Each time I sit down to write, I start with an idea of what I want to say, and then God teaches me something completely new. He molds my own heart through the words I write, so I pray He works through my words to help others in ways I and them could never imagine. Therefore, I plan on continuing to post blogs to show what God is teaching me throughout the process.

In addition, I am starting something new this year by offering my tutoring and editing services as another element of business for me. I love that I can merge my love of counseling and writing through coaching people and teaching them through their own writing processes. Feel free to check out my tutoring/editing experience by clicking here. I am definitely excited about what God can do through this new journey!

So feel free to follow me on Facebook, Twitter, or Instagram, or subscribe to my e-mail list for more immediate updates on my blog and book. In addition, you can contact me for more information about receiving writing assistance from me. But for now, thank you for visiting!

Blessings,
